The Exo Skin Damzel Nymph Fly Pattern Tutorial

I am getting excited for the high mountain lake trips here any day. Last I heard the road was still covered with about 6-8 feet of snow, but I need to be ready.

This is a pattern that I saw Fly Skinz post up a year or two ago and knew right away it was going to be a staple in my box. I really like how it doesn't have a lot of weight to it, because I usually have the most luck with it in the top 5 feet of the water column casting it towards the shore and stripping back slowly towards me in deeper water.

Most of the techniques I use here are from FlySkinz original video which can be found here: https://youtu.be/SmdJCpaOl1I

The only modification I have done to it is not using the foam, being lazy and not trimming the back out of the exo skin but rather using some of the Large Tails, and the body material. I really like the durability of the Semperfli Quickdub twisted with the Straggle String. They come in so many colors that the color combinations are endless.

Tie some up and I hope that they pierce some lips for you.

The Recipe:
Hook: #ahrexhook FW560
Thread: #semperfliflytying waxed thread 8/0
Tail: #flyskinz Damzel tail with micro rabbit strip olive
Body: #semperfliflytying straggle string in olive and Quickdub in olive and golden olive twisted
Back: #flyskinz Damzel tail but could use exo skin cut to fit
Eyes: mono eyes small
Resin: UV resin to secure thread around eyes
